Review of The Incompletes

This book poses the question ‘does an evil person deserve to die?’ Emma is asked this question when she meets up with the previous owner of her recently purchased house. With a new home and a new band Emma is finally starting to feel more like herself after the death of her brother. She is loving being in the band and is enjoying drumming again. Her new tenuous friendship with Josephine and her thought provoking question has Emma contemplating what her feelings are regarding it. Emma teaches high school and one of the units is about the Holocaust so she feels she is quite well versed in the atrocities that occurred. Josephine adds even more information and detail that Emma then researches and is horrified at what she finds out. There are more layers to the story than this and there are some great twists at the end. The secondary characters really help round out the plot! Be sure to read the author’s note at the end of the book.
