Review of Sandwich

This is a character driven family drama revolving around Rocky and her family. Rocky’s family descends on Cape Cod for their annual vacation. This includes her and her husband and their grown children as well as Rocky’s parents staying together in a small rental. Not only is Rocky going though menopause with hormonal shifts and changing moods but she is confronted with her melancholy regarding her children moving on with their adult lives and her parents aging. She is definitely in the midst of being in the sandwich generation. This is a heartfelt and endearing book with a lot of the characters gaining wisdom and under going personal growth. I loved the nostalgia that is detailed throughout the story. Overall a very enlightening and enjoyable read.
