**When Alison attends her ex-boyfriend’s funeral, she discovers his parents don’t know that Sam had broken up with her a few weeks prior. She goes along with pretending to be together still to help his mom through her grief. Sam’s mom then asks Alison and his best friend Adam to pack up Sam’s apartment. After an initial bumpy first weekend they end up spending four weekends together dealing with Sam’s things. After Adam’s initial coolness toward Alison, they soon realize they are romantically interested in each other. Adam has some of his own issues to deal with, and Alison is trying to make the difficult decision as to whether she should have her ovaries removed. She is a carrier of the BRCA 1 gene and has had a double mastectomy. I appreciated how this important storyline was incorporated into the book. I liked how their relationship developed, and their chemistry was obvious. A very enjoyable romantic read from a debut author.
